Burning Chrome
presents the answers to the questions that are most often asked
about bands:-
What
sort of music do you play?
Burning
Chromes set is best described as a mix of Classic Rock,
with covers originating from the 60s through to the 90s.
The band have concentrated on the 'Classic Era' but are now covering
a larger number of contemporary songs.
Burning Chrome play no original material at present, but their
interpretation of the songs covered always aims to enhance and
energise, producing a unique and exciting sound. The band hopes
that in the future there will be some songs written by themselves,
in the style of the music they already play.
Here is a list of some of the artists that have been covered
by Burning Chrome:-
Free, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Cream, T Rex,
Led Zeppelin, Oasis, Beatles, Pearl Jam, Stiltskin.... the list
goes on.
How
many are there in the band?
Burning
Chrome has five members who are:-
Ian Oliver
- Lead Vocals
Adrian Stoodley - Vocals and Lead Guitar
James Hunt - Rhythm Guitar
Simon Pratt - Bass Guitar
Ray Gardiner - Percussion
James also provides backing vocals.
In addition there is the Burning Chrome Road Crew and supporters,
who are always present to move and set up equipment - and consume
beer!
How
established is the band?
The
core of Burning Chrome has been playing for over five years.
The band started off doing charity events, and soon achieved
the status of playing at venues such as Minstrels in Taunton.
The band is fully equipped with PA and lighting, with sufficient
amplification to play larger halls. Background music before,
after and during the interval can also be provided.
How
loud is the band?
With
increasing concerns about live music from pubs causing noise
pollution, the band would like to assure you that if you have
a noise limiter they can still play! Basically, they can be as
loud as you want them to be, but they can turn down.
What
length is the set?
The
band can play for two hours or more, with a normal evening in
a pub kicking off at 9.00pm and finishing for closing time. They
normally take a short break in the middle of the set. Playing
times are always negotiable.
How
much do you cost?
Burning
Chrome will negotiate competitive rates, dependent on the venue,
event, and length of time required to play. Please contact the
band for more details.
Where
are you from, and how do I contact you?
Burning
Chrome is based in the Taunton area in the county of Somerset,
in the southwest of England, UK. All of the individual members
do not live in the town, but it has always been regarded as the
home base.

Finally,
is there any way I can hear or see you before I book?

come and see us play. Our gig guide
is available on this site. If this is not possible, we can supply
a CD featuring examples of the material we perform. However,

you that we are a popular and successful band. If you would like
