Excalibur

Excalibur was produced in 1985 and 1986 in the Bovet Studio. It was significantly shorter than the previous three albums, and concentrated on a new direction for Cloud Of Dust - a focus on guitar based music.

The album was written and performed entirely by Andy Hunt, but with some technical assistance from Nick Hawkins on the final track I Love Women (featuring the electronic voice of a Commodore 64 computer).

While Religious Indoctrination and You Knocked Me Down ring with the anger of a failed relationship, 18-30 Holiday and Flammarion look at the lighter side of life. The title song tells of a story which parallels with Arthurian legend, but with some obvious deviations.

Excalibur shows further maturity and diversification, with several of the songs ripe for a remake.
