The first Cloud Of Dust album was produced in 1983
and featured the music of Andy Hunt and vocals and songwriting
talents of Steve Richards. From the very first Cloud Of Dust
track, Disco Reggae, and the punk experimentation of You
Don't Give A Damn About Me, through to the far more mature
Going Down Town, Volume 1 illustrates the wide
variety of styles that Cloud Of Dust has been prepared
to explore from the very beginning.
Musical highlights have got to include the Cloud Of Dust
theme song, which explores the early re-occurring theme of nuclear
holocaust. In addition, The River Of Life, Holiday
Romance, The Cybernaut and Down To The Underground all
show a rapid development in confidence and ability.
Volume 1 is now showing its age, but is still fondly
listened to by those who have known The Cloud from day
one. |
