The First
Internet Wedding!
You
may have heard about on-line romances, and 'Internet Weddings',
but the marriage of Andrew Hunt from Wellington, Somerset, England,
and Lisa Grosso from West Palm Beach, Florida, USA on November
1st 1996 is the first officially recognised joining in matrimony,
live, of two people over the Internet.
Although they were
both physically present in the same room, Andy and Lisa were
married on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) by a minister in Seattle,
Washington, USA, blessed by a vicar in Lyndhurst, England, also
on IRC, and both of these ceremonies followed a real Register
Office Wedding which underlined and legally certified their matrimonial
union.
Andy and
Lisa invite you to join them in a recollection and celebration
of their big day; through text, pictures and sounds.
For those
of you who were lucky enough to be present - on-line, or even
in real life - you'll find this internet wedding album a wonderful
way to remember and visualise this historic day.
You can follow
the story sequentially from the day Andy and Lisa met, right
through to the cyber-wedding and blessing, by selecting the A
Tour Of The Album link, or you can choose any particular aspect
of the album you are interested in by selecting any one of the
other menu choices.
Whichever
way you choose to go, we hope you enjoy discovering, or reminding
yourself of that special day...
