The IRC Logs (Transcripts)

The IRC log files contained on this page are quite large, and so have not been created in HTML (web page) format. When you click on the log file that you wish to read, it will be displayed as a plain text file. The IRC blessing was originally scheduled for 8.00pm UK time, but, due to problems with everyone not being able to get onto the same IRC server, this was delayed for over half an hour. We extend our thanks to all those involved with the Undernet Network, who worked so hard to get this thing going. Thanks also to our Virtual Usher - Robert Nash.
Eventually, everyone did get connected and the blessing began. However, things didn't go very smoothly, and, to prove that this was not a hoax, and in the traditions of IRC and Internet connections in general, we lost the connection half way through.

The On-Line Blessing Of Andrew and Lisa (First Attempt)

The work in the cyber cafe, and across the world with the various people involved with the Undernet IRC network, was frantic to try and find out why the connection with the cyber cafe had been lost.
It transpired that Taunton Cyber's telecommunications link had been completely lost, and the rest of the Undernet network was intact.
Andy and Lisa watched as a posse of cyber cafe guests with Phil Ikin, the manager of the Taunton cyber cafe, went out into the streets in search of the problem.
They returned with news that British Telecom workers had managed to completely sever the lines to the cyber cafe (and several hundered other homes and business's in the area as well!)
More frantic phone calls with BT eventually managed to secure a standard telephone link with the Internet, and, after over two hours of waiting, the blessing could finally re-commence.
Andy and Lisa still find it hard to believe, that after all the waiting and uncertainty for the many guests who were connected around the world who did not know why the cyber couple had disappeared from their screens, were all still there and ready for them when they got back on line.

The On-Line Blessing Of Andrew and Lisa (Second, Successful Attempt)

While the celebrations for the successful blessing were still dying down, the actual on-line wedding ceremony, conducted by the Rev. Mike Bugal from Seattle, Washington, began.
