To add variations to your Premium 'Ultra' font you will need to use our Scriptalizer™ software.
The Scriptalizer™ handwriting generator is unique handwriting font enhancement software, used in conjunction with the Premium 'Ultra' handwriting font service, that adds an additional level of realism to handwriting fonts.
The Scriptalizer is available in five different formats:

A free-to-use web based version of the software, suitable for most types of
users, that allows the user to manually convert text (either by typing into
the program or copy and pasting). The resulting output can then be copied
into any application that uses TrueType Fonts. This page introduces this
version of the software.

This Microsoft® Word® (Windows only) template replaces our previous plugin and makes it even easier to type in
your handwriting font and add variation with the Scriptalizer™
software, all without leaving Microsoft® Word®. All you need to do is start a new document using the template and, once you've typed your text using a Premium 'Ultra' font, use
Ctrl
+ Alt + s to add the Scriptalizer variation. (Internet connection required).
Note: The Microsoft® Word® template is not compatible with single line fonts as they require software such as Inkscape that can handle this type of font.

AxiDraw customers can access the Scriptalizer™ functionality via the Hershey Advanced and AxiDraw Merge Inkscape extensions, meaning that the character variations will be added automatically when the font is rendered to single line.

The Scriptalizer™ API webservice provides a standard interface,
defined by WSDL, to allow licensed 3rd parties to access
Scriptalizer™ functionality. The API returns a Scriptalized text
string.
The version hosted by Quantum Enterprises has usage limits, whereas the self-hosted version is only limited by your server's capabilities.

The application embeddable DLL version of the software, allows the user to embed the Scriptalizer™ logic within their
own application, generating "handwritten" output
programmatically. This version of the Scriptalizer™ is also
COM-compatible and can be invoked in MS Office applications and others that
support COM interoperability.

The Scriptalizer™ Software is used with the Premium 'Ultra' handwriting font service. The service embeds up to 318 additional characters in the font (depending on which font version you are using), which are accessed and replaced by the software. The software replaces the 'standard' characters with alternatives on a semi-random basis. These replacements include:

These variations another level of naturalness to your handwriting font.
The Premium 'Ultra' service is therefore associated with unique aspects of your handwriting style. This gives the fonts the most realistic and natural look you could imagine!
The Scriptalizer™ can optionally add occasional 'error' characters* as if you'd had a slip of the pen and crossed it out. You have the option to ask the Scriptalizer™ to add these 'mistakes' at a frequency you choose (from none to 1 in 5,000 up to 5-letter words). The Scriptalizer™ will take the next word when it is time to create a 'mistake', randomly change one letter, and then cross it out.
* Error characters are not available in all pre-made Premium 'Ultra' fonts.
The fonts are of an exceptionally high quality, because the connections of each letter to the next have individually been worked with to produce a truly accurate reproduction of the original handwriting.

The Premium 'Ultra' Service is required to get the best results for cursive (joined up) handwriting, but also significantly improves the realism of printed handwriting styles.
If you haven't purchased a custom-made Premium 'Ultra' font yet you can still try the Scriptalizer™ and see how it works using the 'Try The Scriptalizer™' button below. As a non-registered customer there is access to over 60 pre-made Premium 'Ultra' fonts.
If you subsequently want use any of the pre-made Premium 'Ultra' fonts in a word processor for example, either for personal or commercial use, there is the option to purchase the fonts available at a very reasonable price.
Registered customers who have had their own handwriting converted into a Premium 'Ultra' font will receive a unique login and password, which will allow them access to their own font(s).
The Scriptalizer™ Software is a web based application that only requires a modern web browser and internet connection to use.
Any computer capable of running the following web browsers:
Internet Explorer version 9.0+, Chrome version 4.0+, Firefox* version 3.5+, Safari version 3.1+, Opera version 10.0+
Please Note: We have identified a bug in Firefox for Mac that incorrectly encodes at least one special character, so do not recommend using this browser on the Mac.
The output from the Scriptalizer™ can be copied and pasted into any application that uses TrueType fonts*.
* Note 1: The output from the Scriptalizer™ is not
compatible with Word Perfect due to the use of special characters that
interfere with formatting controls.
Note 2: Recent versions of Microsoft® WordPad are not suitable for use with the Scriptalizer™ output as they automatically change symbol characters to the default Sergio font and there are no options to prevent this automatic behaviour.

This software is designed to work exclusively with Premium 'Ultra' Service
Fonts created by Quantum Enterprises. It is not compatible with any other
handwriting font services. (However, a Premium 'Ultra' Font is entirely
usable as a high quality handwriting font on its own, without the use of
the Scriptalizer™ software).
